The Saratoga Creek restoration project is to help steelhead get upstream to spawn.
SEPTEMBER 29, 2022
The redwood root wad is the natural spawning ground for steelhead because it offers several different sized hiding spots after spawning. This allows the steelhead to mature before heading to open waters. If all goes well, and they become one of the lucky few, they will return after four years at sea and continue the process.
